HomeGoods clearance finds became ... This!

I am addicted to HomeGoods!  I always have been.  I have even resorted to giving it up for Lent, along with TJ Maxx and Marshall's... The real holy trinity!  Lol.

I recently found this in the clearance section for $10!  Granted it was really beat up and missing a pocket, but I could totally see the potential that it had. Plus, it was only $10!!  So, I bought it and it was sitting in my garage and I showed it to my sister.  So she moved the pocket and painted it.  It looked awesome except for the big blank spot at the top.

Then I remembered two plaques I bought a while ago because I loved them!  They went into my "I don't know what I'm going to do with this but I don't want someone else to get it and I know I'll use it someday" bin!  Do you do this too?

So I glued the adorable Seaside crab plaque to the top and I couldn't love it more!  All for $24!  A sweet summer HomeGoods find!

Kitchen Makeover continued - Patio Doors.

The kitchen is finally in the home stretch and I couldn't be more excited and relieved!  It has been quite the undertaking but the changes have been completely worth it as I love the emergining feel of the new kitchen.  Here is my new decal - BE OUR GUEST - obviously from my most favorite Disney movie of all time, "Beauty and the Beast."  I like the way this incorporates a touch of Disney magic and the plain sentiment of welcoming people into my home for a vist, a meal or beyond.  I think it is such a softer look than the green and black color scheme.

The old patio doors before I painted the inside trim black and added new draperies.

The old kitchen table and the slanted wall project which I liked very much.  It was made with wood trim and scrapbooking paper taped to the wall.

Here is the new slanted wall treatment!  I love it - the texture, the clean white color and the crisp lines add a touch of coastal chic.  I simply used wood trim to get the look.  The light from is actually a front porch lantern but I love the way it adds drama to the table.  It was from a Habitat for Humanity ReStore in South Bend, Indiana.  New in box, it was only ...... wait for it...... $28!  I'm gushing!

The pub table is my sister's kitchen table.  She has moved in with me post-divorce so she can take a breather and figure out her life.  Her pub height table fills up the space nicely.

Thanks for stopping by - more pics and updates to come.  Hoping to be done by July 1st!  (Fingers crossed)!
