Ghost in the Graveyard (in my kitchen)...

Wow - October 1st!  Really?  I feel I am so far behind in everything!  Well, smatterings of fall and Halloween are finally beginning to appear around my house - a very good thing.  I love Autumn and all things SPOOKY!

I have an area in the kitchen behind the corner sink for which I always like to find seasonal and fun things to dress it up.

When I was a little girl, my Mom and I were at a craft show and we bought this ghost.   We thought he was SO cool and what a ghost should totally look like should we ever run into one.   Every year we would always try to find a new place to put him.   He was a huge part of our holidays tradition just as much as our shepherd boy who is a dead ringer for Barry Manilow.   So not kidding!

A few years ago, I found the awesome tombstones at Michael's.  Then, I found the skull gate and fence pieces on clearance at the Yankee Candle outlet store.  I created this graveyard scene and have been adding things to it every year.  I picked up the black Dept. 56 trees at Goodwill and they are perfectly perfect.  I just like the quintessential Halloween feeling this scene gives and when I turn the lights out at the end of the day,  I wonder what really goes on inside those gates!  :-)  BOO!
